ABSTRACT

AIM To establish an HPLC-DAD method for the simultaneous content determination of four constituents in Compound Kendir Leaves Tablets Ⅰ (Apocyni veneti Folium,Chrysanthemi indici Flos,Stephaniae tetrandrae Radix,etc.).METHODS The analysis of 50% methanol extract of this drug was performed on a 35 ℃ thermostatic Shimadzu VP-ODS column (250 mm × 4.6 mm,5 μm),with the mobile phase comprising of methanol-0.5% phosphoric acid flowing at 1.0 mL/min in a gradient elution manner, and the detection wavelengths were set at 260 nm and 325 nm.RESULTS Chlorogenic acid, hydrochlorothiazide, buddleodide and promethazine hydrochloride showed good linear relationships within the ranges of 24.91-498.2 ng (r =0.999 9),286.33-5 726.7 ng (r =0.999 9),10.04-200.9 ng (r =0.999 9) and 154.80-3 096.1 ng (r =0.999 9),whose average recoveries were 98.3% (RSD =1.3%),99.1% (RSD =0.6%),98.5% (RSD =1.0%) and 99.3% (RSD =1.2%),respectively.CONCLUSION This simple, accurate and reliable method can be used for the quality control of Compound Kendir Leaves Tablets Ⅰ.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To improve the quality standard of Vitamin C yinqiao tablet, and to provide a theoretical basis for im-proving the standards and quality of medicines. METHODS:HPLC in Chinese Pharmacopoeia(2010 edition)was conducted to de-termine the content of chlorogenic acid, arctiin, vitamin C,acetaminophen, chlorphenamine maleate in Vitamin C yinqiao tablet from multiple manufacturers. RESULTS:There were big differences of the 5 components in Vitamin C yinqiao tablet among differ-ent manufacturers. CONCLUSIONS:The content determination method for Vitamin C yinqiao tablet contained in Chinese Pharmaco-poeia remains to be further improved;and the manufacturers should pay attention to the process of production and quality of tradi-tional Chinese medicinal materials of the preparation.

ABSTRACT

Many active ingredients in traditional Chinese medicine exist in the form of glycosides. In recent years, the problem of low bioavailability of Chinese glycosides has caused wide public concern. Glycosides and their metabolites organization distribution directly affect glycosides' curative effect after different ways administration. With reports of glycosides medicine for prevention and treatment of brain diseases increasing, the research of glycosides brain tissue distribution is particularly important. According to reports, glycosides widely distributed in tissues, some glycosides can reach the brain, but some glycosides can not. This research reviews glycosides and their metabolites on the role of brain diseases, the distribution in the brain tissue and recent reports of dosage form's effect to brain. So it can provide a reference for the period of such medicine in the prevention and treatment of brain diseases and drug development.

ABSTRACT

Gardenia is widely used in clinical treatment to cure acute and chronic liver disease. But in recent two decades, hepatotoxicity has been reported from gardenia and major components. Based on literature research, the liver protection, cholagogic effect and hepatotoxicity have been discussed in-depth, with the purpose to provide a reference for rational usage in clinical and new drug development of gardenia.
